MICHAEL BELLONE
Michael Bellone is the director of TRAC team, a non-profit organization that travels the United States speaking to children and their communities about the effects of critical incidents such as the events of September 11th, Space Shuttle Columbia, and Hurricane Katrina. He was appointed an honorary fire fighter with the NYC fire dept. and was a Ground Zero recovery team member, with the World Trade Center Task Force. He worked 257 straight days at the World Trade Center site where he experienced the emotional and physical demand of the recovery process. He has given over 1000 presentations to various schools, churches and other service organizations regarding the work completed at these various disasters and the need to address the effects on our Nation’s children.

Founded TRAC, Inc. (Trauma Response Assistance for Children) to prepare children and adults to deal with critical incidents such as those caused by trauma, violence, terrorism and natural disasters. As director, responsible for developing programs for children in schools, day camps, hospitals, churches and synagogues, clubs, community groups, medical schools, libraries, Parent Teacher Associations, universities and colleges. Coordinated over 650 educational programs related to the World Trade Center disaster. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, board liaison and financial management of the organization.
