Training
TRAINING OPTIONS for PARENTS, SCHOOLS and COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS
Since 9/11, there have been many critical incidents and traumatic events that have taken place that are frightening and threatening to our children. Because of this, the TRAC Team has developed programs to help prepare families, teachers and community organizations how to respond to critical incidents such as natural disasters, terrorist attacks, violence or any other event that may have a traumatic impact on children and their families.
The TRAC Team’s programs train parents, teachers, schools and other local community organizations how to protect children from harm and exposure to traumatic events and how to help them cope if they have been exposed to or have been involved in a critical incident.
Training programs include:
How to create safe havens for children after a critical or traumatic incident.
How to protect children from continuing danger, injured survivors, onlookers and the media.
- How to alleviate some of the immediate stress and confusion felt by children.
- How to help children feel safe.
